You are a child of God!
Matthew 25-34: 25 Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? 26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? 28 And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
So its not enough to see the signs of the times, we are all tirelessly seeking to see the face of God. We live our lives in a constant attempt to apprehend deity; to fully behold the “Kingdom of God.” We are told that we are the actual temple of God. Our bodies surround the very essence and being of God, in the holy of holies, within the pineal gland, in the center of the brain.
All of us have our being calibrated to the very presence of God within. We are as touching according to most faith traditions. Yet, despite this, we all often feel cut off and separated. This feeling of separation is very odd, if God truly exists within us, and we exist within the One.
So how do we connect?!!! It is the question of the age and of all ages past, the need of man to comprehend and apprehend God. How we long for a connection, for the slightest sign of deity being within us and us being within deity. We have all been taught that God is the Way. He is the very essence; the path that our soul travels upon. We are taught that if we become like crystal, clear liquid, in perfect stillness we can apprehend God. We can pass beyond illusion:
“A Buddha is one who has attained Bodhi; and by Bodhi is meant wisdom, an ideal state of intellectual and ethical perfection which can be achieved by man through purely human means. The term Buddha literally means enlightened one, a knower.” A knower of what? While wisdom is formed through a combination of the heart and the mind, it remains a false ideal. What we truly want as human beings is a soft embrace, and intimate encounter with the divine. This is our longing…
Sometimes God is realized as the Devine feminine, the Shekinah glory, the Holy Spirit. Rarely however do we comprehend God as deity truly is. How do we satisfy our longing by “experiencing” the very God within. How do we let God off the chain and allow the One to run free within us and for us to run free within the One.
Certain faith traditions teach us that we wall off God because of sin and rebellion. It is us that is continually creating the void of separation. God flees from us because we are evil. We need a redeemer. However, the examples that we have, Jesus, the Christ, as well as, Krishna and Amida Buddha, who never separated themselves from the sinful and even said that they came for the sick, (the sinners), not the righteous. If this is true, than it is us who flees from the face of God, not the other way around. They are the shepherds guiding us away from ourselves and into the very presence of God. Creating the natural inflowing of the presence of God, by becoming crystal, clear liquid, the stillness on our behalf which we then acquire through the grateful heart that apprehends their mercy and love.
Part of the problem goes back to the root. Why existence? Why being. Why was it brought forth in the first place. In essence, the age old question of why do we exist, and why did the power that animates everything want us to exist? Its quite simple, actually, God had an insatiable longing to love and be loved; to actualize the love of the One beyond deity’s own being. The One had everything within, yet was lacking. We never think of God as lacking anything, yet here we have the truth. God longed for companionship and a way to express deity’s self-contained love. So the One jumped! And the angels rebelled because of this insane decision! And as the One descended the creative universe came into being. By a leap of faith; all of the matter, and complexity of the universe descending into creative existence simply because of the need of God to love. The need of God to love something. The need of God to experience love. The need of God to create children out of deity’s very being. All of this has been created for us because of God’s love!
Legions of angels rebelled against God’s becoming many and a a multifaceted being; both contained and containing. The angels were made outside of God but man is a being made within God, upheld by God, and if they break through, uphold God by their being as well. They contain and are contained by the essence of the One. The fallen angels roar and protest; plot and scheme because they hate us and hate God’s decision to create us out of the One. God longed for an intimacy that could only be created out of the One’s very nature. The intimacy and love that exists between a parent and a child.
Yet while we live, breath and move within God in complete freedom, even as the One’s very being upholds ours. We are allowed the freedom to chose the deity of our God and of ourselves. We are allowed the honor of participating in the quest of becoming. All of creation has been spread out in love, and upheld before us, so that we can apprehend the first cause, the One who leapt for the sake of love. The Eternal One materialized so that we can grasp and embrace the One who loved us before we were; from whom our being flows.
This whole idea came from a short musing: As close as touching. Merged together in this world yet totally free. and this: You made the world, all of it, so you could experience it through me…and I could experience through you. In essence, all being, the expanse of the universe is God’s descent into a covering, a body so to speak, all simply so he|she could experience love. That’s it. Everything you need to know about God.
Yet, we are still left with the quest; the heartfelt desire to experience and know God. Not in the intellectual sense of knowing, but instead an assurance that flows from experience. From actually seeing the face of God, and being apprehended by the One’s love of us. Oh, I can already hear the screaming of the saintly seekers who shout that faith alone is enough; and that we can be content with God, in the vast “Cloud of Unknowing.” Can we? Can we truly be satisfied when that which we love is clothed in deception of unknowing. Those of us who seek and search, will never be satisfied until we experience the Power of Becoming within the Light of the One.
Stop! Be still. You are running. God is pursuing. So Stop. Be still. Clear your mind. Self-empty. Make room. Clear you soul into vast emptiness. Allow the Spirit of the One to illuminate the Holy of Holies within you.
“Stop! Be still. You exist within my very being. Stop and observe me. And by observing, learn to love. And by loving become One with me. All of it, from the beginning to the end, the alpha and the omega, the proximate cause and the reaction, the seer and the seen, the hunter and the prey, the empty and full, and the path between them; it all is for the sake of experiencing my love, my beloved child. I have descended into material being, so you can be, and together we can become One in love. In a sacred dance of desire, compassion and mercy. Stop and let me lead you. And I promise you, my beloved child, that you shall surely see my face.“
