“Finally, the fourth world , known as the Elementary World, is shaped by the Hyperzokos of the Flower of Fire, which is the force responsible for building the physical world. “Produced by Julian the Theurgist during the second century A.D. in Syria, possibly through mediums’ trances, this text elaborated a complex cosmology including an ensouled or animated universe replete with spiritual and demonic intermediaries. Just as the Hermetica offered Hellenism an opportunity to philosophize the ancient wisdom of Egypt, the Chaldean Oracles represented a parallel project 26 the western esoteric traditions with the wisdom of Chaldea. (Chaldea is a transliteration of the Assyrian name Kaldu and was a Greek synonym for Babylonia.) The cosmology of the Chaldean Oracles involves a hierarchy of planes, commencing with the First Paternal Intellect, absolutely transcendent, in the uppermost world of supramundane light. This plane contains the Intelligible Triad of Father, the Magna Mater or Hecate, and Intellect. Hecate acts as a channel for influences traveling between the intelligible and sensible realms.
Beneath this world of the Intelligible Triad lie the three successive descending Empyrean, Ethereal, and Elemental Worlds. The Oracles identify a Second Demiurgic Intellect as representative of the divine power in the Empyrean World, a Third Intellect in the Ethereal World, while the fourth or Elemental World is governed by Hyperzokos or Flower of Fire. The oracles describe the physical world as a prison from which the higher human soul must escape by shedding the body that the lower soul has acquired on its descent through the stars and planets. Asceticism and theurgic ritual will free the soul from the astrological bonds of fate and protect it from the demons that fill the space between the gods and mortal”
So I’m back, I find myself here over and over again, contemplating the mysterious being and habitat of the Living One. The conception of it is a little overwhelming since it was not what I was raised on, it is not a paradigm that I was taught, but only learned of it by experiencing it for myself.
Its a thread that weaves it way though hundred of religious traditions, until it is cast down by the priest class seeking to control and exploit the inner power.
The All is Fire. All physical being arises from the forms contained with the flaming light of the Empyrean, the Ethereal, the Akashic…all names dimly describing.
Of course, Zoroastrians, worshipped God as a Living Fire, something I though was crazyness, until I saw for myself and then stumbled upon scripture after scripture which describes God as Fire. It is the most common cosmology of God. Even the Christians appropriate “Fire” to the Holy Spirit.
Here are some quotes taken directly from “The Chaldean Oracles; Ancient Magi Teachings on Theurgy, Fire, and Cosmic Union which is an adaption of Julian the Theurgist.
“The Light of the higher realms was seen as the first expression of the ‘Paternal Depth,’ the Absolute Deity that holds all things in potential, always present and unchanging…The Light of the higher realms was seen as the first expression of the Paternal Depth, an original and universal essence that flows everywhere and is beyond human understanding. The Empyrean is more refined but still creative fire, serving the source of the Ethereal World. In turn, the Ethereal World acts as the source from the elementary World. Through these stages, the ideas of the divine mind become real in time and space.”
“The Oracles speak of the ‘Paths of the Soul,’ which are like streams of unyielding fire connecting its essential parts and keeping them whole. These paths along with ‘summits,’ ‘fountains,’ and ‘vessels,’ mirror the universal principles that guide everything…”
“As the Oracle says, ‘in every World, a Triad shines, with the Monad as the ruling principle.’ These Monads are divine representatives that manage the universe. Each of the four worlds– The Empyrean, Ethereal, Elementary, and Material– is governed by a supreme power that remains directly connected to the Father and guided by divine wisdom…”
“…The divine name, associated with the elements, is seen as a universal law that guides creation. This creative force is summed up in the figure known as the Demiurge, or Hypezokos, the Flower of ‘Fire.'”
“The divine soul, according to the Oracles, is described as ‘a bright fire that, through the Father’s power, remains immortal and rules over life.’ Its influence can only be grasped when the soul moves beyond illusions created by passions and stops reacting to them…As the Oracles say, ‘The divine cannot be reached by those who focus only on the body; only those who strip away these attachments can reach the highest trust;”
So it is possible?
“The Subtle ethers serve as the covering for the divine light. The Oracles teach that beyond these ethers lies ‘a solar world and endless Light.’ This divine light was the object of their deepest reverence. However, the Light they sought was not the light of the sun we know. Instead, it was referred to as ‘the starless sphere above,’ where ‘the more true Sun’ resides…Some individuals through their own strength, could reach this Light on their own. As the Oracles say, ‘The mortal who approaches the fire will receive the Light from the divine, and the immortal ones are swift to aid those who persevere…’ “
“Everything comes from the same divine fire…”
“The Soul as a shining Fire through the Fathers power, remains immortal, ruling over Life and filling the deep places of the Worlds heart…With the channels intertwined, the Soul carries out the works of eternal Fire… The Fire from beyond does not lock its power in matter but exists within the Mind (Interesting that Celtic Shamans were said to have “fire in their heads.”). For it is the Mind of Mind that shapes the Fiery World.”
“The one who first came from Mind wraps one Fire within another, weaving them together to unite the flowing fountains of Fire while keeping its brilliance untouched.” Proclus in Parmenides.
“A Fiery Whirlwind draws down the glow of flashing flames, penetrating the Universes depths, as its marvelous rays extend downwards from there.” (This reminds me of the image Akhenaten prostrated before the rays of God).
“The Father’s Mind declared that all things should be divided into Three, and with his wills agreement, everything was immediately separated this way.”
“Everything flows from this Triad.”
“He mixed the Vital Spark from two substances, Mind and Divine Spirit — as as a third element, He added Holy Love, the sacred Charioteer that unites all things”
“The human Soul embraces God closely. It holds no mortal nature and is entirely filled with God’s presence, rejoicing in the harmony that sustains the mortal body…Stronger souls can see Truth by their own nature and are more creative. According to the Oracle such Souls re saved by their own power.”
“Of all Souls, the most blessed are those sent from Heaven to Earth. They are joyful and possess indescribable strength, for they come from your radiant essence…”They remain in God’s presence, drawing strong lights that descend from the Father. As they descend, the Soul gathers the heavenly fruit, the flower that nourishes the spirit…” Proclus in Tim., 321.
“The Father’s Mind, understanding His creations, spread the fiery bonds of love throughout everything, ensuring that all things would remain connected in love for eternity. This way, everything in creation stays linked to the Father’s Light, and the elements of the world are drawn together by mutual attraction… The Maker of everything, acting through His own power, shaped the World. Out of a fiery mass, He formed all things by his will, making the Universe a visible creation, not hidden or shapeless…”
“The most mysterious teachings say that His completeness is found in the realms beyond the world, where a Solar World and endless Light exist, as the Chaldean Oracles proclaim.”
“Let fiery hope sustain you on the angelic plane…The glowing Fire comes first, and those who approach it will receive the Light from God ( I hope so). The blessed Immortals respond swiftly to those who persevere…The gods urge us to understand the radiating form of Light… You must hasten toward the Light and the Rays of the Father, who sent you a Soul endowed with deep Mind (Nous)…Seek the path to Paradise…The Paternal Mind will not accept the soul’s longing until it awakens from forgetfulness and remembers the sacred symbol of the Father,”
What the hell is the sacred symbol of the Father, I have never heard of it?!
“Fiery rays extend in all directions to the freed soul.”
Are these the rays we see Akhenaten lifting his hands to worship and receive from in the stone reliefs of his kingdom. Did he know the fiery One and the rays that descend from his being into man?
” A life purified by Divine Fire removes every stain and all irrational impulses that cling to the Soul during its earthly existence, as the Oracle teaches us to believe.”
The Oracles emphasize that we have the power to choose, rather than being ruled by the natural order. For example they say, ‘When you look at yourself, be mindful,’ and ‘if you beleive you are more than your body, then you are.”
And finally from the Oracles of Porphyry we read this: “Above the celestial lights, there is an eternal flame that sparkles with out end. It s the source of life and the origin of all beings, the beginning of everything! This flame brings everything into existence, and nothing is destroyed except by its consuming fire. It reveals itself by its own nature. This fire cannot be contained in any place, for it has no physical form and no material substance. It surrounds the heavens entirely…God is present in everything , and everything is filled with God!” “Within God is a vast depth of flame! Yet the heart should not fear approaching the sacred fire or being touched by it. It is a gentle fire that will not destroy you. Its calm and soothing heat binds everything together, bringing harmony and stability to the world. Nothing exists without this fire, for it is God himself…His name is beyond words.”
In earlier postings you can find more about this God of subsuming Fire. His formless, form has been ever before us, yet we have lacked the eyes of our heart to see. When we call for the Holy Spirit to unite with our Father, within the temple of our heart, we fully unite the flame of God, the flame of the One within us.
They are so kind and good and the Flame is liquid love flowing from the very center of All into us, the Human, the very Children of God.
Praise You Eternal One and be merciful to fractal portion of you that in this moment, lifts you up within your majesty, with lips full of exalted praise. All I am is you.
