Revelation 6:5-6, NIV When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, ‘Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!’
God be merciful to me a sinner! With Putin threatening the West with nuclear annihilation I began to meditate again, on Revelation 18. Surely any honest person has to confess that the United States has become Babylon. And Babylon is scheduled to be destroyed on God’s timeline. How do you live with that burden if you believe it is even slightly possible?
First, you hold onto the hope of the past which shows that all prophecy has two potential outcomes. There can be repentance with mercy from God. God can be turned from his wrath. Jonah spoke out and the people of Nineveh sincerely repented and judgement was forestalled. God is merciful toward a repentant heart; and looks with mercy on a humble and sincere spirit.
Or a people can be puffed up with pride and lawlessness and in the end feel the wrath of God. It’s the people’s choice, not God’s. And the word lawlessness is plastered throughout many of the verses in Revelation. The reason is that lawlessness always brings the wrath of God. The fatal sin of Sodom was not sexual immortality but was lawlessness. The law courts were crooked and set up to defraud the weak, the sojourner and the stranger while protecting and enriching the elites. Does any of this sound familiar. The family that pushed OxyContin on the world and made billions in the process, will never darken any jail cell even though their very hands led to the death and destruction of thousands upon thousand of human souls. These lawless and pitiless acts are piled high on the pyre of iniquity. The rich and powerful in America today steal at every turn, always their minds devising ways to enrich themselves while the people suffer.
But what does lawlessness really mean.
The rich steal millions and get away with it while the poor languish in prison for petty theft.
Lawlessness equals inversion.
Lawlessness mean corrupt courts and officials.
Lawlessness means perverting the DNA that underlies the creation.
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.
22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine
and champions at mixing drinks,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
but deny justice to the innocent.
24 Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw
and as dry grass sinks down in the flames,
so their roots will decay
and their flowers blow away like dust;
for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty
and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Therefore the Lord’s anger burns against his people;
his hand is raised and he strikes them down.
The mountains shake,
and the dead bodies are like refuse in the streets.
Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised.26 He lifts up a banner for the distant nations,
he whistles for those at the ends of the earth.
Here they come,
swiftly and speedily!
Today though, I have been overcome with the judgement of inflation and famine which is descending upon the world. Prices are raging higher and higher. It is possible that people will starve here in America because of a lack of food and because the price of gasoline (do not damage the oil), is rising so high it will no longer be economical to ship food across the country as we have in the past. There are shortages of grains across the planet and fertilizer is in short supply and shipments are being disrupted. ‘Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!’ How could the writer have known this fate was to come upon the world 2,000 years ago?
God’s judgment is coming for America and the world!
Revelation 6:8 “And I looked, and behold, a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over a fourth part of the earth to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” If there are nearly 8 billion people currently on Earth this means over 2 billion people will die.
There is this philosophical debate between Christians over the rapture; when it will happen or whether it is even a real event. It has become my hope! There is no debate within the seat of my soul; because my heart cries Abba, be merciful to your child. Father save me from the coming apocalypse. Snatch me and my family from the judgement falling upon the earth. Save me! I am ready to leave. The earth has become pure evil as hearts darken and people reject you.
I am ready to be led by you, past the veil, away from the danger. I am ready to leave at a moments notice, my lamp is trimmed and the light of your spirit within me is seeking to ascend into your sanctuary. The beauty and light of the earth has been obscured by an evil cast. Surely the demons have scaled the heights and control the minds of men. They hate mankind because you love us so much! I love the creation of your hand, within which I live, move and breath. It is such a great gift and it constantly brings me joy; but what once was beautiful to me has become a curse. Let the suffering of those called by your name pierce your heart. Come Lord now; come and save your people.
Thank you for sharing! We are right there. This verse has been resounding in my mind for weeks now. I have been in deep study in this verse, “ His hand is stretched out still.” It appears america will be judged, but what of Gods people? Will we be taken from all this? Will we be protected? I keep going back to,” as In the days of Noah.” That narrative was what we go by. Others may say,” yes, it was evil then and it’s evil now..” that’s the narrative but as Gods people we are not being told things of humanity will be similar. We are a people who follow the narrative of miracles. What’s the miracle?God took 8 people ( a seed, a new beginning) he brought animals into an ark 2 by 2 ( by sevens of clean animals) he rescued His own as he judged. He is a God who exercises loving kindness. Jeremiah 9:24 Jeremiah 9:24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
He rescued Lot, a man who sat in the gates of sodom and Gomorrah ( that means he was high up in importance/ maybe a political leader or governor) He did not even take Gods commands seriously because he said it to his sons in law as if he was not serious or joking/ a man pleaser possibly) but God still saved him bc of the prayers of Abraham. Gods people, his true people who know Him, need to have that conviction! He loves us. He will keep us. His lovingkindness is better than life. Psalm 103. Father show forth Your tender Mercy’s toward Your people. We wait for You.
I write here never really expecting anybody to read what I’ve written. Yet in my heart I know beyond a doubt what is approaching and which is in fact here now. Where are the shepherds to feed the sheep. They are lost and silent. So I write. Pray unceasingly that God will deliver you and translate you to his presence along with those you love. He will prepare a way of escape for those that love him. There are beautiful words to calm our hearts within this verse: “…he whistles for those at the ends of the earth.
Here they come, swiftly and speedily!” God is calling us now. He is leading us. These words are given to us for hope!
