Psalm 8:4-6: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And a son of man that you are concerned about him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty!
Who made me a little lower than God, if not God Him|Herself? Who crowned me with glory and majesty?
There are types of men|women, who are so sure of everything. I hear them say that God is easy to know and that they understand Him fully and are secure in their understanding. I hear the words even now: “You don’t have enough faith.” “You are sinful and God can’t stand to look upon you.” “You have not immersed your self in scripture.” “You have not been obedient.” You have not meditated enough.” You weren’t born into the right ethnic group.” “You are not a part of the right religion.” “You are not filled with the Holy Ghost.”
God loves you. God is resident within you. God is All.
They blame the Human for his|her inability to know God; even as God is hidden from the Human, because of His|Her essential nature. In fact, the Human cannot even ascribe with certitude a gender to God, since he consists of both genders, merged as One.
These men look upon those who admit their blindness as weak and inferior. They are threatened by those who have the courage to live in the truth of unknowing. They relish their perceived self-knowledge as some sort of medal of honor. A shining gift from their God that they are sure they know; but from where did their knowledge come? And its not the strength of what they know that counts, it is that they simply know! They are so secure and have such certitude in what they believe.
I see it as the blindness that flows from the mind; that churning wheel in the back of our head, that we’ve been called to still and silence. Its so hard, because it wants to spin, it loves to spin, the mind in love with itself. The clicking of ideas and fantasies as they spin through our minds is so alluring. Those past memories that we enshrine there; that we are constantly traveling within the midst of the spinning so we can nurture and worship the passing of our ego. Our hopes and fears of the future, dominating our minds as the spinning never ceases. As the spinning enslaves us. Those that know all truth in their minds, are spinning within and chained to the power of the wheel.
God loves us and wants to free us from the wheel, and for us to live our authentic selves, in the very here and now; all while being inscribed by the unbounded love of the One.
The god I was taught as a child I could never love. I could never want to be around or spend time in His presence. The god of my childhood was a sick, vicious desert god, seeking sacrifice from and the destruction of the trespassing Human. But Jesus was other; yet Jesus was God. Jesus and God of the Old Testament do not mix in the heart, they are not One in the same; the true nature of the One born in the flesh, grafted onto the maniacally enraged desert god, who hated most of the Human and which required the constant sacrifice of innocent living beings. My religion invited me to hate along with that God. I do not hate. I am not that. The Canaanites are not my enemy.
1 Samuel 15:3 Maniacal Desert God Speaking “Now go and smite and strike Amelek and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both men and women, infant, suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.” I am not this; I am not that.
I don’t propose slaughter behind the veil of the “voice of god.” I have no quarrel with the Philistines; their society can be no worse than the uprooted and evil nation, in which I am forced to participate.
And if we are successful in silencing the wheel, then we experience God as He|She actually is. As a silent black pool out of which all possibility extends. A flowing river of becoming, which transcends all things, and out of which all things exist, through the mixture of love and intention.
The more I know, the more I know that I understand nothing! As Bertrand Russell said, “The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.”
The reason we cannot know god is because there is not contrast within him|her. The only way that man could know God is if that man was shattered into a multiplicity of possibility on an unending river of flowing black neutrality.
It is impossible to know God because at this moment, in his|her descent, with the Akasha flowing from within, with his children being created and nourished, he is everything. He is everything that surrounds us and everything within us.
How can you hold flowing water in your hands? It is dynamic and constantly changing. So is our God. What He|She was a moment ago, He|She is not now! What He|She will be, He|She is not. So how can you define Him|Her? You cannot. The One flows and is the source of all. The Human and God are One; so how will you divide God from the Human, so you can imagine His|Her features? How will you divide God from the ever changing universe? How will you O’ Human stop the flowing Akasha, so you can catch a glimpse of the One within? You can’t!
In order for the Human to perceive God, you would have to kill god, and make Him|Her something He|She is not. As soon as you ascribe attributes to the One, you have destroyed the flowing tapestry of the ever changing One. Even I, fully blinded in my lack of understanding, feel confident in declaring that God is not in heaven sitting on a throne. Like some tin-pot potentate. God is still and neutral, so all possibility can exist and flow within Him|Her. There is no “Shadow of Turning,” because God is All.
How do you define ever existing possibility? How do you define a thing that is all things? How do you define power that can not be conscribed? How do you define light beyond brightness? How do you describe love beyond understanding? Oh but you are mesmerized by the churning, the turning of the wheel in the back of your head. It has told you what god is, and you love the wheel, more than God! You have fallen in love with the God you have created in your mind.
The thing that makes the One worthy of my love, is that he|she is all things, and experiences all things within all of the Human. This tells me all I need to know about the One. God and the Human are One and God loves us beyond human understanding.
The One is waiting to dance, to skip and laugh with you. The One loves you beyond you ability to comprehend. There is no need to know the One, you only need to stop and be with Him|Her and rest in His|her presence. The One loves each and every one of his children. The One is good and just and worthy of your trust.
Worthy are the Ones who are unafraid to tread their own way; the way they have created for themselves out of the flowing love of God. Honored are they that create their own God out of the love of their own hearts, in the presence of the One. The Human with the courage to follow their own authentic truth. The world and the demons that seek to rule it, and to rule the minds of the Human, are terrified of such people.
Still the Wheel within you, and rest amidst the presence of the One.
