ONE
Adam’s Quest
Answers are deceptive by their fullness; Questions are empty allowing space for the truth.
Man spends his life time aspiring for something called perfection. It is a phantasm that is both illusionary and nonexistent. Yet it is a strong delusion found inside of those members of mankind that demand it. Dwelling in God’s presence reveals the unknowable One, as being totally free, with an unsearchable depth of beauty that allows the formation of the asymmetrical multitude. Humanity seeks to make god in its own image by limiting and circumscribing the ever flowing multiplicity of the One. Many people might even judge god as being imperfect, if they ever stopped and took the time to search for the One within, silently and without preconceived ideas. Mankind demands perfection when it’s expedient and when it can be used or manipulated. Perfection is the tree that grew from the seeds of the knowledge of good and evil and it’s been the curse of mankind ever since.
The world operates grandly and with a swagger lost in a perceived reality that is an illusion. It has been carefully crafted by the master deceiver. Mankind inspired by the lure of Satan and his individual longing to be worshipped as a perfect, magnificent being, has totally deceived our individual and collective consciousness. The lie is a raging beast that destroys countless numbers. When we all awake from our slumber and open our eyes?
You say that your redeemer was a direct reflection of the Father, yet was he not weak and imperfect in the eyes of the world? Then why is it you demand a perfect, sovereign god? Awaken from the allusion. The allure of the world’s systems, the laws and codices, the easy answers, all blind you to the possibilities. They blind you to the endless, myriad of possibilities held within the One.
Listen to me, travel within yourself and find the spiritual cord that connects your being with the One. Allow your being to be wrapped within the embrace of the Spirit, within the very essence of the One and then jump! Let go of all that you’ve held onto so tightly and just be. Within the One, perfect peace exists because fear has been banished. Come and enjoy the place where there is no striving but rather utter calm.
Perfection requires a rigid set of rules and the tight control of the individual. Awake and see that it is the chance to fail, the chance to take the crooked path that allows us to be utterly free. Within the One where love dwells and where fear is banished, matter and being is free to exist as it wills without law or reason. It is here that being and matter flow within the music of the spheres. Love cannot exist in perfection. Love can only exist when it has the freedom of fluidity. The ability to move from being to being and throughout all created things is a requirement for love and mercy to exist. Moving from higher to lower, the act of self-emptying and compassion, which are all are required for the free flow of love. All of creation exists on and within an unseen mass of movement, which is the missing equilibrium that is being searched for, and cannot be explained without the defining presence of the One.
The wall of unbelief is built by the human heart’s inability to comprehend the depth of love that the One has for each and every one of us. That is why if we impede the flow of the Spirit within our own hearts through abuse it is an unforgivable sin. It is not unforgiveable to the One, but rather we cannot forgive ourselves for the abuse of the beautiful Spirit within. We become chained to unbelief through the abuse of the Spirit, which manifests itself as an impassable barrier built by our own conciseness. We imprison ourselves by our inability to perceive the love of the One. And so our essence and being dies because those who can no longer perceive the love flowing from the One are totally lost. When the Spirit that manifests the love of the One within us is abused, she flees from us, the flame dies and we become spiritually dead. In essence we chose to destroy our own being.
What is the path to the One? The One has ordained freedom and myriads of paths and possibilities which are all set free by the essential being of love. The Christ, the incarnate within a man, spoke a message of inclusion not exclusivity. He said, “How terrible it will be for you experts of the religious law! For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden…How terrible it will be for your experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.” What man dares tell the One whom shall or shall not be chosen? What man can prescribe the course of the glory of the Spirit as she enters within the center of the individual being and declares by her presence whom she has chosen? No more than man can stop a flower from opening to the warmth of sunlight upon it. Woe to the little men who dictate the salvation of others, so shall you be judged.
As for myself, when I am in the presence of the One, knowing myself as I truly am, I seek to ask that all receive mercy, yes even every one. For if another does not receive mercy, then why should I?
I have been called to tell the story of Adam, for we are all his inheritors, and his inner quest to know God is ours as well. Adam is every man and women who breathes and passes across the face of the earth. We are all Adam, and Adam is all of us. We all share the capacity to seek the face of God within ourselves as he graciously meets us through the Spirit in the center of our being. He has ever existed and has become over uncountable years and is still becoming now. All of humanity rests in Adam’s brow. Humanity has been given the possibility of uniting as one within the Godhead. As such beings we are all then Adam and Adam is all of us. Adam is by his very essence, the symbol of the relationship between God and man. Clement tells us that each human being has the image of the Logos within him and that it is for this reason that Genesis says that humanity is made in the image and likeness of God.
Adam is an archetype out of which the being of men and women has come forth. We are his heirs through the spiritual seed of the divine that has been placed within us all as it was first placed within Adam. In the same way that God created Adam in his image, both male and female, and with the very essence of God within their being, so are we the same. Our spirit is the very essence of God carefully placed within the rotting husk of a human body. For many, the spiritual side is trapped and held fast; it is locked away and doesn’t manifest itself. The world seeks to lock the spiritual away in a cell of quiet despair. In this, the religions, the institutions, the government systems, the very ordering principles of our existence as human beings, is supremely effective, for our souls or minds, long to bring order out of chaos. What person among us truly embraces the powerful command of the Christ to “fear not” and to instead embrace the possibility of being free?
In the following pages God will most often be called the One. All things are fully contained within the One. Obviously, God is genderless, but there are places where God will be called Father and him as a means to express the intimacy that exists within the spirit of man and God. Within the unity of the One both feminine and masculine becomes circumscribed. The Holy Spirit is the divine feminine that is intimately embraces all within the One. As you will see God is ineffable and his being is inexpressible in words. The One contains attributes that are both male and female and the aspects of both within us are a reflection of the One. Adam’s quest will reveal the One in great depth and will draw you into his presence with longing and love. The God that is found within Adam is a pearl of great price that a man will sell everything for in order to possess it. Yet we can never know the One, but rather we can hope for our own spirit to experience and be swallowed up within the waves of radiant being that can be found within ourselves.
Don’t be sad or downcast if the experience of bliss and perfect peace comes only once or twice in a lifetime because the currents of the world are swift and pull us along as if being within a torrent. Know that these currents are also part of the One and see them as they are. Bless the sun as it rises and sets just for your benefit, bless the moments of laughter, or the engulfing sadness as all being gifts from within the One. Out of the experience of uniting within must flow the currents of the One from our individual being to others. Bless everyone you meet, the beautiful and the ugly, the wicked and the righteous, those that bless you and those that curse you. All have come within your path by the unity of the One.
The “Son” is the second aspect of the Godhead. He is the Christ, Jesus, Krishna, and many others whose names have been long forgotten; the priest and intercessor for all mankind, but he is so much more. He is in fact the obedient servant of the One who holds all things together through his observation of all things. The essential work of the Son makes him both lesser and greater than the One. He is Brahmin-Brahma who by perfectly observing Braham creates all things. In Greek thought, Logos describes the part of God that acts in the world. Philo says that the Logos is God’s likeness by whom the whole cosmos was fashioned. Origen calls the Logos, our Lord and the soul that holds the whole universe together. As you travel with Adam, an awareness will envelop you that terms such as lesser and greater and before and after totally have there meaning obliterated within the presence of the One.
Many others have tried to come to terms with the One. The Tao is a wonderful expression of the sense of the overarching presence of God within all being and within all the physical creation. There is however a short coming in the Tao. The writer is fatalistic and believes in yielding to what is and will be. While this can be a path to peace, and we should trust that the One is working through all things because of his great love of us, it is also true that the One is open and yielding just as he calls us to be. In this sense, the One is ready to bend and yield all things, the very creation, for the sake of those that love him and who are aligned with his being. The only predestining within the One is that all things exist within his unity and love in a way that allows unlimited possibility.
This possibility exists in an unregulated system is that of the Tao, the Way, the One which can be molded and moved by our own longing when united in love. The Christ, the high priest and intercessor, between God and man, is the gateway and force by which the One can be moved. The Son and the One are in perfect harmony and the Christ, by his power, upholds the One so that he can exist in unrestricted being. Within Krishna is the authority to bend the Way. Amida Bhudda is united with the One in anchoring and directing the freely flowing One. If we are truly children of God, then we all must confess, that “everything is just as it should be” within our being. The good and the bad, the heights and the depths, the love and the hatred, life and death, all the things that makes us human are ordained by God.
This is enough of an introduction to where we are headed. I have spent decades evading the call of my Father to put these words to paper. Why me? Who am I to tell Adam’s tale? What right do I have to tell this story? If you think that all that is written here is foolishness then may you be blessed and go out and find your own path. You see we are all creating the reality of what is and who God is, moment by moment from within our being. For we all live, breath and have our being within the One. The Christ taught much in stories because they have the power to touch the heart and because our own individual being is a story constructed within ourselves for a great purpose. So here is the story of the journey of Adam as he travels within the One. In essence it is the journey of Adam traveling within himself. Everything you believe is a myth. You have created it or allowed it to be created for you by others. Much of what we believe as truth has come from outside of us and been applied, layer-by-layer, on our conciseness until we believe the myth of our existence as being the truth. Most of what we believe is not original to our own intelligence but rather we are trapped within the understanding of others. Until we release our individual spirits to free-flow and unite within the One, we are all trapped in the illusion. Adam’s quest will help you to rediscover your own being and when you finally understand yourself you will be ready to find the One.
The Master does his job
And then he stops.
He understands that the universe
is forever out of control
and that trying to dominate events
goes against the current of the Tao.
Lao Tzu
See the Birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because their heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all your worries add a single day to your life? Of couse not.
Matthew
Beware of the silent man who coaxed to speak;
Quietude allows the depths of possibility to flow from within his soul.
